SUMMARY:Kaleidoscope Quilt with Rikki\, November 9th & 16th\, Saturday
DESCRIPTION:To quote “A Kaleidoscope Quilt is a symmetrical quilt that takes its design features from the intricate patterns inside a kaleidoscope. Twenty-six years ago Leigh was the owner of a marine canvas shop where she created upholstery from canvas and vinyl for a variety of settings. This is where she fell in love with sewing\, Leigh made clothing and accessories before finding her love of piecing and creating quilts. Quilting on a domestic machine for most of that time she finally moved to a stationary HQ Sweet Sixteen® long arm and then moved up to a HQ Forte® long arm with Pro Stitcher® Premium. Leigh worked for a local sewing gallery for the past 4 years where she instructed new owners how to use their new machines and/or software.  We are fortunate to have Leigh with her enthusiasm for quilting joining us at Jacksonville Quilt Show.

Then raw edge applique’ and securing all the flowers with free motion quilting. Knowing how to lay out the designs and using different techniques for a over all visual Art vest.\n\nSupplies needed A vest that fits you well\, or a vest pattern of your choice. As simple as possible without darts. Marking pen such as water soluble or chalk\, depending on the color choice of your fabric. DESCRIPTION:We’ll quickly review edge-to-edge design before learning how to crop out areas to customize your quilting. Learn to use crop to your advantage! \nThe first Friday and Saturday of each month Miss D’s offers you an option for expanding your quilting experience.  Cynthia\, an experienced quilter and Handi Quilter Certified instructor\, will be here for hands on quilting.  On Friday\, the morning is all about Pro-Stitcher on the long-arm for beginners.  On Friday\, you will be introduced in the wonder filled world of quilting using your software.  Cynthia will begin by introducing you to the basics of quilting with software and then each subsequent month will provide training to help you master your software.   As you learn your software in class\, you will learn new techniques and software functions on the long-arm\, explore ways to become more productive or artistic using the software and maybe create some projects along the way.   Different topics will be covered each month. \nWhen attending the Pro-Stitcher class make certain to download Pro-Stitcher Simulator on your laptop and bring your laptop to class.  Always ensure your Pro-Stitcher is updated to the latest version.  You will initially utilize your simulator software but this is also a hands-on class.  First you build it in simulate then stitch it out. \nIf you do not have Pro-Stitcher but do have a computerized system and believe you might be able to gain some knowledge from class\, then please attend.  You will definitely take away at least one new idea for your quilting from each class. \nFor those of you who own a long-arm but not Pro-Stitcher\, this is a great class to attend to become an informed quilter and make your decision with confidence.  As you know\, we offer great prices\, support and classes to support our quilting community. \nClass fee includes a light lunch\, so it is important we have a count of students at least 1 day prior to the event. \nPlease note the start time of the class\, out of respect and courtesy for all attending\, plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early so that you might be set up and ready to go at the start time.  If you need any assistance moving\, loading\, and setting up your machine\, please let us know. \nPlease note:  Classes must be paid in advance\, you are placed on wait list until class fees are paid.  Cancellations will be accepted until 14 days prior to class\, you may be offered the option of store credit or refund.  Miss D’s will work with you every way possible.  No refunds or store credit available after this date.

DESCRIPTION:Molly is a well known Certified Quilt Judge and Artist.  She has been known to the quilting industry for many years through not only her judging but also for her beautiful art quilts and designs. \nIn this class\, Molly will teach you how to make the perfect binding for your quilt.  It will be square\, lay flat\, and really pass the judge’s scrutiny.  No more dings for the bindings on your quilt. \nWhat to bring to class: \n\n*A quilted project to be bound.  It can be just a sample.  About 24” x 24”.  But can be a different size.\n* binding strips\, 2.5” x wof fabric ( 3 strips based on 24” x 24”)\n*thread to match binding\n*sewing machine\n* 1/4” foot\n* glue stick….
