DESCRIPTION:Quilts by the River \nApril 2nd and 3rd\, 2027 \nApplication Rules and Requirements \nTHANK YOU for your interest in QUILTS BY THE RIVER SHOW. \nPlease review all below to complete your entry.  You may print this form using any word software and use as the application form.  Once you have copied it into your word software\, you will have to format the content for easier printing. \nALL ENTRIES MUST HAVE: \n\nA LABEL stitched to the LOWER LEFT SIDE of the back of the quilt with the maker and quilter’s name. The label may be stitched or written in permanent ink. NO information should be on the front of the quilt. The label MUST MATCH THE APPLICATION entry form.\n4-inch SLEEVE on the upper back for hanging\nBe submitted in a bag or pillowcase – CLEARLY MARKED with your name and the name of the entry.\nBe submitted with a LEGIBLE / COMPLETE entry application.\nA check payable to Miss D’s Quilt or cash for the submission fee on each entry.\nA signature and date for the HOLD HARMLSS AGREEMENT.\n\nGENERAL RULES: \n\nAll entries must be quilted by hand\, machine\, or both. Quilting is defined as a running stitch that passes through the top\, batting\, and backing. TIED quilts are not eligible.\nAll quilts must fit the size requirements and definitions of the selected category. See: CATEGORIES section to determine your placement. NO QUILT larger than 110” by 110” are accepted.\nEntrants may not submit more than three quilts for this event. NO single entry can be in multiple categories\, but you may have 3 quilts in the same category.\nNO quilt previously entered in prior Quilts by the River events may be submitted.\nQuilts must be in excellent condition. NO Incomplete\, torn\, or soiled entries will be accepted.\nA qualified category will be eligible for monetary awards when there are 4 or more entries in that category. If a qualified category has less than 4 entries\, it will be eligible for ribbons only.\nAll quilts must be checked in by the acceptance date and REMAIN ON DISPLAY BOTH DAYS.\nAll shipped quilts must contain a prepaid return package and must arrive during the acceptance period. They will be returned within a two-week period after the event.\nThe jurors’ and judges’ decisions are final. Entries will be judged by members of the Quilt Show Committee and the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Tourism group. The selected quilt will receive a $150 prize. Challenge entries will not be judged in any other quilt show category listed on the application form and are not eligible for any other prizes. \n\nThe purchase of the Challenge kit includes prepaid entry for the quilt in 2027 Quilts by the River\nYour challenge entry must be registered for the 2027 show no later than November 30\, 2026 and your kit purchased.  To register you must send an email via MissD@missdsquilts.com no later than November 30\, 2026 stating your intention to participate in the challenge.  Your quilt must be submitted in accordance with the timeline listed in the Quilt Show Application\, (March 20\, 2027).  The Quilt Show application must be included in your submittal.  The application form can be found at this link https://missdsquilts.com/event/annual-quilts-by-the-river-quilt-show-april-2nd-and-3rd-2027 (please copy and paste).\nYour quilt must comply with Quilts by the River general rules\, including a 4” hanging sleeve and label sewn on the back.\nNo commercial pattern may be used. Your quilt must be of original design reflecting the theme of “River Life.”\nYour quilt total measurement must not exceed 120” have a quilt top\, quilt back\, batting and held together by stitching.\nMust use a recognizable amount of the fabrics included in the kit on the front of the quilt\, use on the back does not count toward this requirement.\nYou may incorporate other types of fabric into the main body design of the quilt. Embellishments must not be sharp or dangling.\nThe main body of the quilt must include piecing.
