Introduction to Long-Arm and Free Motion Quilting Basics
This is an all day class but is divided into two sessions.
Morning session is 10:00 – 1:00, Longarm Basics
Longarm Machine Quilting basics will cover everything from loading your quilt, how to thread the machine, what thread to use. We will also explore adjusting your top and bobbin tension, talk about needles and thread to pair up. Last but not least we will explore different stitch modes, how to use Groovy boards and pantographs, Rulers, and adjustable Handles. This class is jam packed with information that will help you with your new free motion endeavor.
Afternoon session is 1:30 – 4:30, Free Motion Quilting Basics
Quilters everywhere LOVE the excitement and fun of free-motion quilting. It’s easier than you think! Create a flowing design by connecting simple design elements with continuous lines, travel across the quilt or filling specific areas. Learn how drawing and muscle memory contribute to beautiful free-motion quilting.
Class is open to all long-arm owners regardless of machine brand.
Class times: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Lunch: included in class fee
