This class is suitable for anyone interested in textile arts, quilting, or embroidery. Whether your are a beginner exploring creative fabric design or seasoned maker wanting to expand your skills, this course provides practical tools and inspiration.
Course discussions include:
1. Introduction to Whole Cloth Projects
◦ Overview of tools and materials needed.
◦ Review of design sources and examples of finished projects.
2. Design Selection and Preparation
◦ Hands-on activity: Choosing a pre-printed design and resizing it.
◦ Group discussion on layout ideas.
3. Transferring Designs to Fabric
◦ Demonstration: Different transfer techniques.
◦ Participants transfer their chosen designs onto fabric.
4. Enhancing with Threadwork
◦ Thread selection workshop: Understanding weights and colors.
◦ Hands-on stitching activity: Experimenting with threads on sample fabric.
5. Project Layout and Final Assembly
◦ Planning the final layout and stitching sequence.
◦ Starting the stitching process with guidance.
Class is open to all long-arm owners regardless of machine brand.
Class times: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Please bring pen and paper to take notes. Also, bring your laptop with Pro-Stitcher Simulator installed. In class we plan to utilize the software. If you don’t have Pro-Stitcher, not to worry.
In the past we have demonstrated unique projects which would enable you to learn new techniques, use your software to its fullest and perhaps a make a little money along the way. So, for you crafters, this project meets all those requirements.
