Monthly Serger Club
By now you know, I love my serger and love using it. This month for our October meeting, we are making a three dimensional pumpkin. We will be working with several different serger stitches, and a variety of whatever colors you choose to use.
Here is a list of the supplies you will need to bring or buy it Miss D’s. If you wish to keep your pumpkin one color you will need 1/2 yard of fabric.  Two tone pumpkins, will need 1/3 of each color. You could even bring an assortment of colors. You will need school glue, 2 to 3 plastic drinking straws. Several Q-tips. A larger button and a small color fabric for your stem and leaves.
I like to use Polyester fiber fill to stuff your pumpkin. If you have crazy, Little used fabric scraps whatever you have to fill it up bring it along. Serger thread to match or contrast your fabric selections. You may want to do some hand stitching so make sure you have a few needles and thread to coordinate with your pumpkin.
Remember to bring your serger, foot pedal, serger thread, any extra serger feet, and sewing supplies. If you happen to have a clear foot for your serger, you may find that to be helpful. Lastly, bring your threading guide and manual.
Miss D’s does have polyester fill, school glue and a variety of decorative threads that would be great for this project.

The club is open to all brands of sergers regardless of skill level. Our approach is to learn by doing. Projects are of various skill levels, not to worry members of the club are available to assist you in completing the projects.

Bring your serger and usual supplies (matching thread, rotary cutter, straight edge ruler, scissors, etc.). Bring your serger and don’t forget your power cord. We may have sergers available for you to use, please give us a call if needed.
Remember any items purchased at Miss D’s for class receive a 15% discount. Let us know in advance if you will need supplies, so that we can ensure we have what you need at hand.
